According to our friends over at Lighthouse Friends, "The walkway connecting the light tower to the island was so badly deteriorated that it was removed in 1977. Grand Banks Schooner Museum Trust, who has a lease on the station, has restored the keeper's dwelling and rebuilt the walkway in 2002."
