Had a great afternoon at Hill Farmstead Brewery. Shaun E. Hill is doing amazing things in his hillside, rural location, crafting some of the best new beers in the world. I had the honor and luck of working with him on product and brewery shots. This is a sneak peak of what we got. From left to right: Florence (a wheat Saison with organic Vermont wheat); Edward (an American pale ale); and Earl (oatmeal coffee stout). These are but three of his many offerings. If you get a chance to partake in one or many of Shaun's fine fermentables, don't miss it!

Photography is but one of my passions; another one happens to brewing, beer and the strange, wonderful alchemy of the fermented gift. One of the basic elements of beer is hops, and I happen to grow my own. These little gems are perennials, so each year another load of cones comes out. 

As this is my 200th Photo of the Day this year, it seemed only appropriate to celebrate. Sláinte!

Sometimes a scene or image will jump out at you, and sometimes it will sneak up on you. This one snuck up on me while I was descending the falls, while I paused to check my footing. Never know.

Nearly at the top of the Silver Cascades flume in Crawford Notch State Park, you'll find this amazing little scene—calm, quiet, restorative. Worth the climb, to be sure.

A little sandpiper, who didn't seem bothered by me in a least, skittered its way around the beach at Lake Willoughby in Westmore, Vermont, while I shot the waning sun. Nice fellow. Quiet, kept to himself and kept busy.
