Photo of the Day 02/19/10 - Winter's Icy Grip Can't Stay the Waves

Lake Memphremagog in Newport, Vermont, on a shockingly cold day. In early winter, it can take a bit for the lake to freeze, and even on a day like this, probably somewhere in the neighborhood of -20F, the waves were rolling, the wind was whipping and the mists were freezing.

We're just two lost soul swimmin' in a fishbowl, year after year.
Runnin' over the same old ground; what have we found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

Photo of the Day 01/10/10 - Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

My friend Jon and I went out yesterday for a tramp through the woods on some new snowshoes. Over hill, over dale, over stream and dusty trail... it was a great trek. Serious work for this out-of-shape photog, but felt good to work hard and grab a few pictures on a gorgeous winter day.
