Here in the States, we're celebrating Independence Day, July 4th. Mostly these days it's an excuse to blow things up, sit around, eat, drink and generally do nothing.
However, it would be better that we at least take a few moments to remember and thank those responsible for maintaining and defending that freedom, the brave men and women of our armed forces.

A few days ago, our dear friends Jaime and Jon had their first child, one Gus Phillip. He was a long time coming, and even longer deciding to exit the Mommy condo, much to the chagrin of his current landlord. However, he's well, Mommy's well and Daddy, too.
Leaving the hospital last night, this is what greeted us. It's officially Gus' Double Rainbow.
Welcome to the world, wee sir. I'd say it's glad to have you.
